Abstract Future gravitational wave (GW) detectors have been projected to be able probe the nature of compact objects in great detail. In this work, we study potential observability small length scale physics near black hole horizon with tidal deformability an inspiraling binary. We find that it is possible them extreme mass ratio inspirals. discuss how quantum effects can affect GW observables. This as a consequence bound shape our understanding horizon.
